Big news! Change of plans: this time next year Joya and I will be living in Athens, Georgia. Joya is finishing her first year and going to aim for Georgia law schools, so we can be closer to home and a majority of our friends. The one thing that is sad is that we won't get to hang with Mike and Jasmin in Raleigh, but we will be able to see my niece and nephew grow up. Hopefully have some young'uns of our own too!

Selling the House
We put our house up for sale this week. I'm really going to miss this place. Joya and I will probably always look back and think of our first home here in Kingsport.

You can see the house on the web here.

SEC Football!
Just watched the National Championship game. You just have to love SEC football! The SEC team with one loss that narrowly won many other games came in the underdogs. The Big Ten team comes in undefeated and supposedly invincible. People said Florida didn't even have a right to be in the game.In the end the SEC team absolutely decimated the "invincible" number one team. Surprise! This always happens. Some teams in weaker conferences get immaculate records, while SEC teams rack up losses playing in the world's strongest conference. Head-to-head SEC teams usually win. It's no coincidence every time an SEC team has been put in the BCS championship game they've won.
It's time for the BCS to be replaced with a playoff. Until that happens the only way to legitimately prove a national champ is to put the SEC Champs in the BCS championship game every year. Wouldn't it be great getting to watch the SEC champs dominate some undefeated "invincible" team every January?

Our Christmas Card
Here is this year's Christmas Card. Lots of people (particularly my friends, since I am so bad at keeping up with addresses) might not have gotten it. So here it is (minus the fancy paper):
Our news this year is that Joya started law school at Campbell University School of Law in August. We moved her to a little house in NC (35 miles South of Raleigh), and she dived into Torts, Contracts, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, Property and Legal Research & Writing. It's intense but she loves it!
Jonathan remains in Kingsport, TN finishing his residency (only six more months to go!!) and through the amazing hospitality and open home of our friends, Luke and Melissa, we meet halfway each weekend in Winston-Salem. We've got one more semester of juggling 3 homes. Then Jonathan will move to NC to practice until Joya graduates in 2009, and we will once again attempt a normal life (although, it's been said that "normal" is just a setting on your dryer).
We know how blessed we are to know you and have you as our friends. Thank you for the love and grace you've offered us and for the knowledge of your constant friendship. It's not ideal that we are only in touch with some of you at Christmas but it's better than never to let you know we thought of you this year with smiles on our faces.

Consistent Life Forums
I recently set up a web-forum for discussion of the Consistent Life Ethic. Although consistent-life.org does a wonderful job spreading the word on consistent non-violence, I realized there isn't a place on-line for people to discuss this political and social movement.
So I set up a web page for discussion. Feel free to check it out and join the discussion here: www.consistentlife.iforumer.com
While I'm not sure I'm 100% in agreement with everything, I would certainly gladly identify with this group over Republicans or Democrats.
It's kind of sparse there right now, but hopefully some interesting discussions will pick up soon.

Choices
I have two incredible family medicine clinics I am considering joining. Both practices are incredible community practices that also do hospital work, and they both seem very interested in me. I actually love them both which makes trying to make a decision hard.
I suppose there are worse things in the world than having to choose between two excellent options.
